Students in packaging, wrapping and packaging at the IUT in Avignon are getting involved in the Telethon by designing donation boxes

Students in 2^e year Packaging, Emballage et Conditionnement (PEC) course have joined forces with the Telethon. Initiated by Odile Devise, a lecturer in the PEC department, and Martine Decher, coordinator of the Téléthon Vaucluse, this initiative enabled the students to work on the design of 30 money boxes to collect donations for medical research.

A STUDENT PROJECT FOR CHARITY

Seizing this opportunity, 16 students, divided into groups of two, embarked on the adventure in September. They worked on eight separate projects, each of which had to meet strict constraints in terms of size and compliance with the Telethon's graphic charter. It is on this last point in particular that the students will be assessed as part of their 'Design and graphics' teaching unit.

After a month's work, three projects stood out and were selected for the production phase. Thirty items (10 per project) will be produced on the premises of the IUT technology hall between now and the end of November. These creations, donated by the IUT, will then be displayed in shops in the Cavaillon area during December.

The University Bachelor of Technology (BUT) in Packaging, Wrapping and Packaging is a three-year degree course designed to train future experts in packaging design, manufacture and management.
