Generally speaking, university institutes of technology (IUTs) rely on the extensive participation of players from the world of business, both in the teaching and in the running of the establishments. Business players are called upon to assess the value of the courses offered by the national advisory committees, the national teaching committees that provide guidelines on the content of the programmes and the professional development councils of the IUTs. Since its creation, theIUT d'Avignon University has forged close links with companies: it is administered by an IUT council whose president comes from the business world, and it is this council that elects, from among the teaching staff, the person who manages the IUT.

Important: recruitment conditions
The recruitment of temporary lecturers and temporary staff is governed by the text of the decree no. 87-889 of 29 October 1987 relating to conditions of recruitment and employment in public higher education.
Temporary lecturers are individuals chosen for their expertise in the scientific, cultural or professional fields, who carry out a main professional activity in addition to their activity as a lecturer.
Temporary agency staff must be enrolled to prepare a postgraduate degree, or be retired, pre-retired or on end-of-service leave who have not reached the age limit in the civil service.
Prior to any recruitment, the University is obliged to ensure that the applicant fulfils the eligibility conditions set out in the aforementioned decree n°87-889.
For this reason, applications will be assessed by the Human Resources department 1 month before the start of the course. Participants must be able to provide documents proving their main employment status.
Remuneration : Gross hourly rate 43.50/hour TD equivalent

Please note: The following categories of staff are not allowed to carry out temporary teaching assignments:
- Students benefiting from a student contract governed by articles D811-1 et seq. of the Education Code
- ATERs (article 10 of decree no. 88-654 of 7 May 1988)
- Students enrolled at a level below doctorate (licence, master)
- People looking for work
- Serving or retired employees aged over 67 on the date of service (ministerial note dated 18/10/2012)
- Employees who cannot prove that they have worked 900 hours/year or taught 300 hours/year
- Self-employed workers/self-employed entrepreneurs who cannot prove that they have had sufficient income for the last three years
- Foreign nationals without a work permit (including British nationals from 01/01/2022).
